Calculate wallpaper rolls from room perimeter, wall height, roll dimensions, and pattern repeat.

Strip length
2.6 m

How the calculation works

Strip length = wall height + trimming allowance, rounded up to a whole pattern repeat. Strips per roll = floor(roll length/strip length). Rolls = required strips/strips per roll, rounded up.

Inputs

  • Wall perimeter, m
  • Wall height, m
  • Roll width, m
  • Roll length, m
  • Trimming allowance per strip, m
  • Pattern repeat, m

Calculation details

With a 16 m perimeter, 0.53 m roll width, 2.5 m walls, and 0.1 m allowance, you need 31 strips of 2.6 m. A 10 m roll yields 3 strips, so 11 rolls are needed.

Doors and windows are not subtracted because offcuts may be needed around them. A repeat of 0 means no matching. For drop-match patterns, check the manufacturer's layout and allowance.
