Electricity Cost Calculator
Calculate an electricity bill from usage in kWh, price per kWh, and fixed charges for the billing period.
- Total cost
- 1,100
- Effective price per kWh
- 5.5
How the calculation works
Cost = usage × unit rate + fixed charges. Effective unit price = total cost/usage.
Inputs
- Usage, kWh
- Rate per kWh
- Fixed charges
Calculation details
Use the actual rate from your bill. At 200 kWh, a rate of 5 currency units and fixed charges of 100 give a total of 1,100.
For time-of-use billing, calculate each tariff period separately and include fixed charges only once. Include taxes in the rate or fixed component according to your bill.
